A philosopher produces ideas, a poet poems, a cobbler shoes, a professor compendia and so on. A criminal produces crimes.
It is highly interesting, if we take a closer look at the production of crime and society as a whole we can rid ourself of many prejudices about criminals.
A criminal does not only produces crime, but also criminal law, and with this also the professor who gives lectures on criminal law. The criminal produces whole of the police and of criminal justice, constables, judges and so many different lines of production.
So a single sociological entity i.e. criminal creates demand for so many professions, and once those professions get hold in a society they want their source of production to sustain forever.

  1. The notion of “crime” or “criminal” is the product of the values of the social system. As a part of its ideology, it has to support and uphold the economic and political system. That is why some crimes are illegal in a certain countries and legal in some other parts of the world.
